Summary:
!Hola! This weekend we will have the rare pleasure of bringing you an international event from Spain. Except for the Spanish National Tournament series the spanish Smash community mostly kept to itself when it comes to tournament. Therefore we are excited to get a deeper look into the community that brought us players like Over Triforce, one of the best Sheik players out there.
The event we’ll stream is of course Hit & Stun Tournament 2. HST is designed to be a tournament series for fighting games like Street Fighter, BlazBlue but with the main focus on Smash Bros. The projects goal is to become “one of the greatest fighting games tournaments in Europe”. While the first HST only had 51 entrants in total, this time around HST2 has more players, bigger names and even sponsors. Unfortunately due to another big event taking place this same exact weekend, Avalon V in the Netherlands, some big names like LLL.Jeapie or Baxon will be missing.
Check out the featured player section to find out who is still in.
Featured Players:
The “Beast from Sweden” has retaken the throne as the best european smasher by winning COMEBACK I in Finland last month where he defeated Leffen 3-0 in Winners and 3-2 in Grand Finals. Having won Shadowloo Showdown V in Australia last weekend, Armada is full into practice, he might be a bit jet-lagged though. Let’s see how he deals with it and if he can defend his title.
Appearently Leffen has been preparing for this event but judging from his tweets the man with the gamer genes has some hard time currently. Let’s hope he gets well soon. Even though he has the potential to virtually defeat anyone, we’d rather see a happy than a sad villian. A cocky-confident Leffen is good Leffen.
Fox? Isn’t Ice supposed to be a Sheik main? Not anymore! He has jumped onboard the 20XX hype train and wants to go Fox for further events. Check out this interview to get his opinion on changing mains. The interview was taken at last weeks OMD#3 in Hamburg, Germany where he had the most challenging national Grand Final against Däumling in a long while.
It’s home turf time for the small man buut big player. Well, actually not since Over hails from the spanish capitol Madrid and not Barcelona. Yet we are sure he can count on his fellow spanishmen to cheer him up good when it sets get international for him. With Ice switching mains Overtriforce undoubtably will stand his ground as the best Sheik main on the block.
Long time no see. Strawhat Dahean has been absent from the european tournament circus for quite some time, he stood active within the national scene though. He used to main one tough Marth but switched to Sheik for good measure, winning the first HST with it.
Trifasia was turning heads at B.E.A.S.T. 4 when he was giving Armada a run for his money in a very intense Peach ditto. He has establish himself as one of the best Peach in europe coming in 13th at RoF#3 alongside with Vanity Angel. His nasty Peach is expected to do very well at this HST.
quiKsilver is not only one of the best european brawlers, he is also on the rise in Melee. His style in Melee is very defensive and cunning, an adaptation from his Brawl days. With this style he placed 17th at RoF#3, the same placement as the supposedly best european Samus Cyr. At HST2 two other Samus’ will be battling him for the glory of best Samus. Those other Samus’, Fauster from France and K-12 from Spain, both have a very different, far more aggressive playstyle. Who will preveil?
Peki is one of the long term veterans of Finnish Smash and one of the most dominant players in Finland for a long time as well. Peki’s play-style can be described as smart and efficient with a spun of creativity. He often chooses the safest and the most effective options while remaining unpredictable.
Stream:
Due to the nature of the event, we’ll be streaming both FGC and Smash. Thanks to Armada who is providing us with his channel as a backup we are able to stream both portions simultaneously. Check out the stream schedule to find out where to go for which game:
